Marvelous Mushrooms The Focus at Annual Wellness Dinner

annual wellness dinner, Haw River Gourmet Mushrooms, 2 baby goats

Our Third Annual Wellness Dinner, Sunday January 20 (from 1:30 pm to 5 pm) focuses on the health benefit of mushrooms with our Special Guests, Ches & Laura Stewart from Haw River Mushrooms, LLC. They may even bring their adorable toddler twins!

The Stewarts grow edible and medicinal mushrooms at their small farm in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. They grow mushrooms both indoors (oyster mushrooms, lions mane, shiitake, cinnamon cap, reishi, king trumpet, etc.) and outdoors (King Stropharia, blewits, log grown lions mane, blue oyster, and shiitake). Laura holds a Wild Mushroom Food Safety Certification which allows her to sell nineteen varieties of seasonal mushrooms.

Their passion for mushrooms increased as they learned more about the culinary diversity of mushrooms (with some tasting like chicken, crab, lobster, and more) as well as the amazing health benefits of mushrooms (including supporting the immune system, boosting mental clarity, and being a healthy source of vitamins and nutritional protein). They will be giving an informative talk about mushrooms and our menu features their mushrooms!

Third Annual Wellness Dinner Menu:

  • Chef’s Choice Appetizers
  • Warm Chaga & Reishi Mushroom Tea
  • Hungarian Mushroom Soup
  • East Branch Ginger, Microgreen, & Citrus Salad
  • Mushroom Pastry
  • Peasant Duck Confit on Quinoa and Brown Rice Pilaf with Sauteed Mustard Greens & Mushrooms
  • Cheese and Fruit Platter
  • Gluten Free and Vegetarian Options Are Available (Upon Request)

Call 919-742-5176 for more information or email (theinn@celebritydairy.com). The Inn at Celebrity Dairy and Celebrity Dairy Farm are located at 144 Celebrity Dairy Way in Siler City, North Carolina. To purchase tickets online, click here.

Our Sunday Dinners are always on the third Sunday of the month in our spacious great room (with indoor air conditioning in the summer and a warm fire in the winter). We look forward to seeing our guests! Guests can also tour the barn (and meet our friendly goats) and we can show you around our cheese room. Bring your appetites to our Annual Wellness Dinner!

Happy Holidays from Celebrity Dairy to You

5 images of Celebrity Dairy innkeepers and staff members

Happy Holidays from Celebrity Dairy to you! Brit and Fleming Pfann of Celebrity Dairy are pleased to have such a hardworking and fun-loving staff. With such a variety of responsibilities, we all use our talents to serve our human guests:

  • Provide fresh, complimentary breakfasts for our overnight guests each morning
  • Offer eight clean guest rooms that can be reserved by groups
  • Use the goat milk to make our award-winning goat cheese and our goats milk bar soaps
  • Present multi-course Third Sunday Dinners each month for a small gathering
  • Sell our products at local Farmers Markets (cheese, gelato, T-shirts, soaps, etc.)
  • Host elegant weddings (both indoor and outdoor weddings with the option for a tent)
  • Prepare lunch made of local seasonal foods combined with a tour of the dairy and inn

Plus we serve our animal friends (including our celebrity goats):

  • See that they receive proper nutrition, vaccinations, and veterinary care
  • Let them take shelter inside the barn when weather requires it
  • Take care of pregnant mama goats and deliver their kids (baby goats)
  • Regularly milk our dairy goats in our milking parlor
  • Give our goats the opportunity to interact with their adoring public at our Open Barn Events

We recently had two early surprise babies! Did you know that mama goats can carry 1, 2, or up to 3 baby goats at a time? Another interesting fact is that goat’s milk is the most popular kind of milk worldwide!

We welcome you to stay overnight as a B&B guest, tour our farm, come to one of our many public events, or see us at a local Farmers Market. All of us at The Inn at Celebrity Dairy and Celebrity Dairy Farm bid you Season’s Greetings. Happy Holidays from Celebrity Dairy to you!

P.S. We can always use more volunteers to help us in 2019! Find out more here.

Yorkshire Pudding is a rich, savory roll or popover doused with gravy. Sometimes the meat’s pan drippings are mixed into the batter to enhance its meaty goodness.

Despite the name “plum pudding,” the pudding contains no actual plums. Raisins were sometimes called plums in the 19th century, but only when they were in a plum pudding or plum cake.

What’s more English than tea? Tea rooms can be found in most towns and many villages in the United Kingdom.

Traditional English Christmas cookies include biscuits, tea cakes, and short bread. We will offer a variety of festive and delicious Christmas cookies which our guests are welcome to take home with them.

After our Traditional English Dinner and before our delicious dessert, guests of the Christmas Dinner at the Dairy Farm are invited to meet our friendly Celebrity Goats. Our Celebrity Dairy Goats give us the ability to produce goat’s milk, goat cheeses, and goat soaps.

We look forward to receiving guests on this Third Sunday Dinner. A Christmas Dinner at the Dairy Farm with traditional English faire.

How To Become A Celebrity Dairy Volunteer

become a celebrity dairy volunteer, Celebrity Dairy Farm, goatsWould you like to become a Celebrity Dairy volunteer? There are many ways you can volunteer to help us. We are a farm that stays busy doing work that we love.  It would be made even more special if we could share it with friends.

Possible volunteer tasks include:

  • Feeding and cuddling kids (baby goats) during kidding season (January to April)
  • Sharing information about our goats with Celebrity Dairy guests and visitors
  • Showing off our goats at Open Barn Events
  • Cleaning our barn and pasture
  • Repairing our fence
  • Providing other support at our special events
  • Gardening (especially for those who have been called “green thumbs”)

Of course, any amount of time you spend with us we greatly appreciate, however, we especially need volunteers who can  commit to at least two four-hour shifts per month. This gives you a chance to really learn how our farm works and for us to use our volunteer resources wisely. We ask that you first attend a brief tour and introduction session before making a commitment to do volunteer work with us.

Volunteers who can work with us regularly will be first in line to assist during kidding season and who would not want to cuddle and bottle feed adorable baby goats?! You will get to try our cheese, gelato, fudge, and soap and observe the process of making our goat milk products. Plus, we offer discounts on stays at the Inn at Celebrity Dairy and Special Events to our volunteers.

If you cannot make a long-term commitment, we can make arrangements for groups of five or more to take on larger projects. This is an opportunity to get your hands dirty on the farm and bond with your friends and co-workers!

Get a taste of volunteering with us at our First Sunday Open Workdays from 1 to 5 pm followed by a potluck supper and desserts from the Dairy. Anyone interested in volunteering may email us (theinn@celebritydairy.com) or call us (919-742-5176).

Please let us know the times and how often you are available to volunteer as well as if you have any physical restrictions. We appreciate your willingness to learn how you can help out The Inn at Celebrity Dairy and the Celebrity Dairy Farm.

An after-dinner barn tour allows guests to meet our celebrity goats, and to let dinner settle before enjoying dessert and coffee. Our Celebrity Dairy Farm is the source for our delightful goat milk and delectable goat cheese.

This Thai Third Sunday Dinner is special.  Thai Cuisine is known for its intricacy, attention to detail, texture, color, taste, and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor. Those preparing Thai Cuisine prefer using fresh herbs and spices rather than dried. Like most other Asian cuisines, rice is their staple grain.

  • Rice Paper Wraps
  • Stuffed Eggs (Kai Kwan)
  • Mikimono Fruit & Vegetables
  • Coconut Soup
  • Apple Ginger Salad (Yam Ma Muang)
